About This Site

Welcome to our book review site where book lovers are able to write reviews on books they’ve already read, read reviews, or just browse through our books. The main site moderator, me, is a stay at home mom and reader of all things written, including the backs of cereal boxes and shampoo bottles. I have taught elementary school for the past three years, but decided to take some time off due to our child’s birth! This site is my first passion and the reason why I got into teaching in the first place, to spread the literacy bug! Currently, I am in a Master’s program with an emphasis in Reading and Literacy, so you can see this is more than a blog, it’s a love! I plan on going back to teaching as soon as teaching jobs in California become available again, but in the meantime I am able to read once again! We are hoping to build a community where book lovers can feel safe about discussing their thoughts and opinions on books they’ve read.

Review Policy and Other Important Stuff!

I work on this blog because I love to read and want to share the books I have read.
Here are some simple facts you should know:

• I will read nearly everything except books that will compromise my values (I’m sure you can get idea of what sorts of books this includes).
• I am not targeting this site towards anyone under the age of 13; if you are younger than this please find a site more suited for your age.
• I do not hold back my honest opinion on the books I read, regardless if I receive a free copy, gifts, or monetary payment for the review.
• If you want me to review your book please reference the above item and keep this in mind if you are not pleased with the review.
• Sometimes I have a large stack of books to review, sometimes not. Please be patient, I will get to your book when I get to your book.
• If I feel your book is horrible I will give it at least 100 pages before closing it and never opening it again; I will not post reviews for unfinished reads, but I will let you know so I don’t leave you hanging.
• I will give all books consideration, but I will not read and review all submissions.
• Currently I am only reviewing hard copies of books, not e-books. Once I get a digital reading device (I’m thinking an ipad) then I will consider reviewing your book.

Advertisements

As you see, this site has advertisements and amazon links, this is the only source of income this site makes. We are not biased on any books reviewed because of payment from the author or publishing company (hence the review guidelines above). We make a very small percentage from third party advertisements posted.
