I know I blogged about currently reading The Opposite of Fate in a previous post, but I am still reading it due to the madness of the latest holiday! I finally got a chance to breathe yesterday and was able to read the next hundred pages or so. I am just about half way through The Opposite of Fate and I am loving it. Amy Tan is such an incredible writer; she is able to place the reader directly in her world of superstitions, sixth sense experiences, and family drama. It has been said before by many others, but her uncanny ability to display the mother-daughter relationship is breathtaking and eerie at best. I cannot wait to finish this book; hopefully it will be done by this evening.

I’m currently reading The Opposite of Fate by Amy Tan, author of The Joy Luck Club. So far this book is extremely interesting to read; it is a compilation of her thoughts and writings throughout her journeys in life, she calls these writings her musings since they help her with her writing of novels, short stories, and essays. Amy Tan really brings out her sense of humor in The Opposite of Fate, making it an enjoyable read. I’m only in the first few chapters, but I can tell this book will probably make it on one of my top five lists in the future. I cannot tell yet if this book will go into my Tea Drinking Readers category, we’ll see what I pick up to sip on while reading during this fantastic storm brewing outside!
